The young Spanish defender, Gerard Martin, who plays for Barcelona, expressed immense joy after scoring his first-ever goal for the club in their 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad. The match, held on Sunday evening at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium, was part of the 26th round of La Liga. This remarkable performance helped Barcelona maintain their position at the top of the league.

In a post-match interview with Barcelona TV, Martin shared his excitement about the goal, saying, “I couldn’t believe that I had scored a goal. It was such an emotional moment for me, and I kissed the club’s badge to show my affection.” It was a moment of celebration not only for Martin but also for his teammate Marc Casado, who scored the second goal in the match. Martin revealed that it had been quite a while since either he or Casado had found the back of the net. “Neither Marc nor I have scored in years, so it was a special moment for us,” he added. The two teammates even joked in the locker room about their long wait for a goal, showing the camaraderie and fun atmosphere within the team.

Martin also humorously shared a light-hearted moment with Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Inaki Pena, who had made a playful bet with him before the game. “Inaki told me that he would shave his head if I scored today, but I’m sure he won’t be doing that!” Martin laughed. This added a personal touch to the celebrations, highlighting the friendly and supportive relationships between the players.
