Fulham succeeded in eliminating Manchester United from the fifth round of the FA Cup after winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw after regular time on Sunday. Fulham took the lead through their defender, Calvin Bassi, in the 45+1 minute, before Bruno Fernandes equalized for United in the 71st minute.

This result marks the continuation of Manchester United's struggles this season, as they have now been knocked out of both the League Cup and the FA Cup, in addition to sitting in 14th place in the Premier League standings. The match began without much danger in the first 10 minutes, with both teams failing to create clear chances. United’s first opportunity came when Rasmus Højlund received a low cross into the penalty box, but his shot went wide of the target.

Christian Eriksen then unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box, but Fulham's goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, made a brilliant save to deny him. Fulham's first significant opportunity came when Lukic missed a golden chance to score after receiving a precise cross from Iwobi. However, he strangely sent the ball wide of the goal when he should have finished.

United responded with a great delivery from Fernandes from the left side. Joshua Zirkzee made a clever touch to attempt to score, but his shot went just wide of the post. Just before halftime, Fulham took the lead through Bassi. The defender rose to meet a cross into the box and headed it past United's goalkeeper Andre Onana into the net.
