Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), recently reflected on the mistakes made during the planning of the club's future and acknowledged the errors in the process. In an interview with the German newspaper "Bild," admitted, "I honestly acknowledge that the five-year plan for Paris was a mistake," referring to the 2011 Paris project, which aimed to win the UEFA Champions League within five years through the acquisition of high-profile global stars. However, he emphasized that PSG had learned valuable lessons from these mistakes. "We learn from our mistakes," he said, acknowledging that the initial plan had fallen short of expectations.




Despite the initial shortcomings, Al-Khelaifi highlighted PSG's achievements in recent years. "In the end, we managed to reach the semifinals three times in the last five years, including playing one final," he explained. This success demonstrated that, despite not winning the Champions League, PSG had made significant progress and consistently fought to reach the top levels of European football. Al-Khelaifi further clarified, "If you ask me if our goal was to win the Champions League, I would say no, but if the question is whether we want to fight in every game, the answer is yes." This reveals the club's focus on competitiveness and striving to improve year after year, regardless of the ultimate result.

Looking ahead, Al-Khelaifi is confident about the future of PSG, particularly regarding the team's potential to win the Champions League. "We want to listen and play attacking football.
